We’re making a book with Moshekwa Langa. Over the course of three months, A4 will explore three decades of Moshekwa’s artistic practice in a hybrid exhibition and studio environment for thinking together. There will be spaces for writing, design, editing, and printing. We will place some rapid hangs of work for quick looking and talking about, as well as installations for longer study. Visiting the exhibition, you’re invited to engage Moshekwa’s materials and methods through the lens of making a book.
Is it better to be named or not to be named?
I grew up in a place where the streets have no names.
I lived in a place that was without names,
but in which it was easy to find one's way around.
– Moshekwa in dialogue with the A4 team, August 2023
